Traditional skills and heritage craft courses inspired by a beautiful ancient woodland
The courses we host preserve and promote heritage craft, offering an immersive experience where people of all abilities can learn and create. Located in the stunning Ecclesall Woods, we combine nature with traditional crafts skills to provide workshops that inspire and teach practical and artistic skills rooted in history and woodlands.
Welcome to our workshops
Professional crafts people will guide you through a variety of techniques using natural materials. From woodworking and willow weaving to soap making, coppicing, axe work, and seasonal wreath making, each workshop is designed to be hands-on, practical, and inspiring.
Explore your creative side, learn valuable new skills, and immerse yourself in the tranquility of the woodlands. Whatever your interests or skill level, our workshops provide the perfect environment to learn, create and connect with others.
"I enjoyed every minute of the workshop. It was like being in an episode of The Repair Shop. Only better!"
Nestled in the woods
Scheduled with the seasons in mind and with locally sourced materials plentiful, courses take place at our beautifully crafted outdoor workshop area, in Hectors House and some may venture into the wider woods. And The Woodland Stop Cafe is just next door!
