A Safe Crossing for Abbey Lane – An Update

After plans to put in new crossings on Abbey Lane were published in December, with the consultation process open until 22nd January, the work will likely begin this summer.

Although the confirmed plans didn’t include everything we’d wished for, we’re pleased that plans are progressing and will make crossing easier and more accessible for everyone.

There will be three new islands and one Pegasus crossing, opposite the bridleways towards the bottom of Abbey Lane. The lower ‘controlled crossing’ will likely be removed.
